The Slovak labour market is gradually recovering, said PM Eduard Heger at a press conference ahead of the Cabinet session on Wednesday. According to him, the registered unemployment rate reached only 7.76% in June, its lowest so far this year. He also thanked employers for retaining jobs with the help of financial assistance from the state. The job retention aid provided by labour offices has so far amounted to two billion euro. The premier also stated that Europe is entering a third wave of the pandemic, triggered by the Delta variant. "The state is prepared for the third wave and I believe that we will manage," Heger added.
