Former Special Prosecutor Dušan Kováčik has requested to be released from custody. A decision regarding this should be taken by July 15th, judge Pamela Záleská said at Tuesday's hearing of the Specialized Criminal Court (ŠTS), where witnesses are testifying in the case. The former Special Prosecutor was detained in October last year and charged with the crimes of aiding a criminal gang called "Takáčovci", accepting a €50,000 bribe, abuse of power by a public official, and breaching confidentiality. He denies the accusations.
