Korcok on Israel and Ukraine

Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok (a Freedom and Solidarity/SaS nominee) congratulated Yair Lapid on Thursday on his appointment as Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister. The Slovak minister also expressed Slovakia's interest in strengthening a long-term partnership with Israel. "I confirmed my readiness to continue all-round and constructive cooperation with the new Israeli government, which we wish much success in meeting all challenges," said Korcok.

Also on Thursday, the Foreign Minister made a virtual speech on behalf of the Slovak Republic at the fourth Ukraine Reform Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania on Thursday. He reiterated Slovakia's strong support for Ukraine's transformation, its successful progress in reform efforts and its European orientation. "Judicial reforms, the fight against corruption or limiting the influence of oligarchs are important in terms of improving the socioeconomic situation, moreover the Ukrainian public expects this. At the same time, it must be acknowledged that in recent years, despite difficult conditions, Ukraine has managed to make significant progress in several areas," said Korcok. The two-day event (July 7-8), co-organised by Lithuania and Ukraine, was attended by presidents, prime ministers, host foreign ministers, as well as representatives of other countries and international organisations.
