Slovak and Hungarian Prime Ministers Eduard Heger and Viktor Orban during their talks in Budapest on Tuesday concurred on the issues of Western Balkan EU integration, migration and cooperation within the Visegrad Group (V4-Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland). "We have common interests in EU enlargement and we want the Balkans to be given the same chance that we were given," said Heger following his meeting with Orban. The Slovak premier thanked Hungary for its help during the coronavirus pandemic. The prime ministers agreed on the need to raise awareness in order to achieve higher vaccination rates against the coronavirus.
Concerning the Slovak-Hungarian relationship, Heger called it very specific. He stressed he wants to be the prime minister of all Slovak citizens and all ethnic minorities, including the Hungarian one, so that their members 'feel at home' in Slovakia. "We exchanged experiences on how to achieve it," he added.
