Trnava-based carmaker Stellantis Slovakia announced that it will produce a segment of small cars, most of which will be electric. However, it did not reveal any more details regarding specific models or makes. "The Trnava plant has acquired a new production program from the group with the investment amounting to €180 million," said Prime Minister Eduard Heger. According to him, the first new models should leave its production lines in late 2022. The carmaker also applied for state aid, the amount of which has not yet been decided. Stellantis Slovakia directly employs 4,000 people, while an additional 20,000 work for its sub-contractors.
