Slovakia supports the integration ambitions of countries from the Western Balkans, said Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok following a meeting of foreign ministers from the Visegrad Four countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) with their counterparts from the Western Balkans on Monday. The meeting was focused on EU enlargement and post-pandemic recovery of the Western Balkans. "The European Council decided to open the accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia more than a year ago. Further delays in carrying this decision out significantly damage the EU's trustworthiness and demotivates partners," said Korcok, adding that he would like to see the talks to begin during the Slovenian presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2021.
