COVID passports as of June 26

Slovakia will launch the COVID passports system as of Saturday (June 26), Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky (OLaNO nominee) declared on Thursday. The Minister called on the public to refrain from registering with the system straight away, unless the people need the registration for their immediate travel plans. He explained that the system is designed to withstand greater loads, but if too many people tried to register at once, just to test its function, it might disrupt the service temporarily. The Health Minister pointed out that Slovakia will introduce the COVID passports ahead of the EU schedule, which plans the date of launch on July 1.

The system will also automatically keep track of the history of PCR testing, stored within the eHealth system. "If the tested individual were positive, the system would automatically generate a confirmation that the individual had overcome COVID-19," claimed Legnvarsky.
