President Zuzana Čaputová called on Slovaks not to hesitate and get vaccinated against COVID-19 in the summer months and asked politicians to behave responsibly. She also rejects the effort to call into question the vaccination.
"Please don't wait until the arrival of the third wave because it might be too late then. We have the certainty that the vaccine will protect us against the virus only a few weeks after the second dose," she said.
Slovakia has one of the lowest rates of vaccination within the EU. "In such a situation when we're lagging behind in the vaccination, sending out signals that cast doubt on the vaccines is extremely irresponsible," said Čaputová.
