Slovak Shield national military exercise coming to end

The Slovak Shield national military exercise is coming to an end at the Lešť training centre, TASR learnt on Wednesday.

Chief-of-General-Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces Daniel Zmeko attended part of the exercise on Wednesday. "This episode will be evaluated, but what we could see shows that the results of the shooting and the individual tactical manoeuvres were OK," he told TASR.

Soldiers are at the training centre in central Slovakia from June 1 to June 24. "The entire Slovak Armed Forces are training as part of the Slovak Shield, and it's the biggest exercise this year," he noted.
