The Slovak Armed Forces are ready to assist the police at border crossings if necessary, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď stated on Wednesday. According to him, if the Government decides to carry out thorough checks at all crossing points, it is obvious that the police will not have enough manpower to handle this alone. The minister claimed that he and Interior Minister Roman Mikulec will do their utmost to ensure that people cross borders only if they have been tested or vaccinated. "Our aim is to protect the country, no one wants another lockdown or further deaths," said Naď.
