Health Minister: “No Restrictions on Travelling Yet”

Travelling is to remain without restrictions for the moment, but vaccination, a phone app and negative PCR tests will become prerequisites from a certain point in the future, Health Minister Vladimír Lengvarský (an OĽaNO nominee) declared after a session of the central crisis team on Monday. Because of this, the minister called on people to get their jabs as soon as possible, so that they can return home from their vacations abroad during the summer break without any complications. The Police Corps is ready for all options of border supervision, including from the easiest to a 24-hour constant control, Police Corps President Peter Kovařík stated on Monday. In tropical medicine expert Vladimir Krčméry's view, the new delta strain of novel coronavirus puts Slovakia into a new situation. Nonetheless, he stresses the importance of inoculation. A little more than 423,000 people in Slovakia are waiting for their first or second dose of inoculation. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has launched inoculation with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, allowing people over 18 years of age to apply for it.
