Public Health Office: All positive coronavirus tests now sequenced

All positive coronavirus tests are now being sequenced, Public Health Office spokeswoman Dáša Račková told TASR on Monday, noting that this concerns all samples with a CT (cycle threshold) value of 25 or less. "CT is an indicator expressing viral load. The lower it is, the higher the load in the sample," explained Račková, adding that CT values exceeding 25 significantly lower the success rate of sequencing. The sequencing process is carried out by laboratories of the Public Health Office, the Slovak Academy of Sciences' Biomedical Centre and the Science Park of Comenius University in Bratislava.
