If the public in Slovakia does not behave responsibly vis-a-vis the Delta variant of coronavirus in the summer, there could be another lockdown in the autumn, said Health Minister Vladimír Lengvarský. No case of the Delta variant has been confirmed in Slovakia so far, but "there's a problem that people returning from non-green countries do not report themselves or they lie from where they are coming", said Lengvarský. The Central Crisis Management Team is expected to discuss mandatory vaccination against coronavirus for some groups, including medical professionals, police officers, firefighters, soldiers, care home staff and people over 60 years. "Mandatory vaccination is only a preliminary proposal that needs to be reviewed by the Justice Ministry," said Lengvarský.
