Survey: President Čaputová still most trusted politician

President Zuzana Čaputová is the most trusted politician in Slovakia on 54%, according to the most recent survey of the Focus agency. Former Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, placed second, enjoys the trust of 44% of the respondents, followed by Economy Minister Richard Sulík (Freedom and Solidarity, 34%), Speaker of Parliament Boris Kollár (We Are Family, 31%), Prime Minister Eduard Heger (Ordinary People, 29%), Former Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD, 25%), Prešov regional governor Milan Majerský (Christian Democrats, 23%) and former parliamentary chairman Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party, 23%) each, MEP Milan Uhrik (Republic, 22%), chair of the extra-parliamentary Progressive Slovakia Irena Bihariová (21%), Investment Minister Veronika Remišová (For the People, 19%), and ethnic-Hungarian SMK head Krisztián Forró (10%).

Igor Matovič (Ordinary People), who was PM for a year until the spring, has the trust of 13% of people, but he has the highest distrust rate from among all political leaders in the country - 87%, ahead of the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia chair Marian Kotleba - 82%, Remišová - 79%, Danko - 75%, Fico - 74%, Heger - 69% and Kollár - 68%, Sulík - 65%, Pellegrini - 54% and Čaputová - 45%.

The survey was carried out in early June on the sample of 1,011 respondents.
