Slovak MEP Lucia Duris Nicholsonová (Independent) was again confirmed as chair of the European Parliament's (EP) Committee for Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL). 38 MEPs voted in the first round for Nicholsonová to keep her position, while her opponent, Spanish MEP Margarita de la Pisa Carrion from the ECR faction gained only 15 votes. "I'm extremely pleased that after two years, I have such strong support among my colleagues in the EMPL, that they've elected me as their chair by such a large majority," said Nicholsonová.
