No new head for Supreme Court

No new head for Supreme Court

On Monday evening the Judicial Council failed to choose a new head for Slovakia’s Supreme Court after none of the three candidates managed to gather the number of votes required by law.

Thus incumbent Stefan Harabin, a controversial former Justice Minister with alleged links to a Mafia boss, lost the chance to lead the Supreme Court. The Judicial Council will now have to organise a new round of elections in the next four months.
