The Government will advocate more finance for universities, Prime Minister Eduard Heger declared after meeting with representatives of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) and the Slovak Chancellors' Conference (SRK) on Monday.
Heger pointed out that the pandemic showed that science and research play an indispensable role and it's necessary to give them adequate attention and finance. He plans to "elevate them to the pedestal" and treat them as a prime-ministerial agenda.
€213 million is earmarked for university school system reforms and an additional €633 million for support of science, research and innovations.
