A consensus prevails on the need to boost the production of vaccines against COVID-19 for the EU member states as well as other countries in order to build a global collective immunity, Prime Minister Eduard Heger declared after a two-day EU summit in Brussels on Tuesday.
"For us, it's important to draw a lesson and make sure that in the future all member states enjoy timely and adequate access to vaccines for their populations," stated Heger.
On the sidelines of the EU summit, Heger also met the prime ministers of Croatia and Slovenia for bilateral talks. Heger assured both partners of Slovakia's support for the policy of EU enlargement to the western Balkans and discussed plans with his Croatian counterpart on how best to ensure a summer tourist season for Slovak holidaymakers on the beaches of the Adriatic Sea.
