It is in the interest of Slovakia to build closer ties with Slovaks living abroad and utilise their potential to develop Slovakia, the head of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korčok stated during a session of the Government's Council for Compatriot Issues on Tuesday.
Korčok held talks with state secretaries from the ministries of education, culture, the interior, finance and the head of the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad to decide the distribution of subsidies for compatriot-related activities and infrastructure projects in 2021.
"It's in our interest to firm up ties with Slovaks living abroad and utilise their potential to develop our country," underlined Korcok.
The Council is an advisory and consultative body of the Slovak Government for issues related to care for Slovak nationals living abroad.
