According to a recent survey carried out by Go4insight agency, approximately 60 percent of Slovaks make use of social networks on a daily basis.
The survey showed that almost all Slovak teenagers and one in two elderly people have a social network account, most frequently Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
Approximately 86 percent of the respondents claimed that they visit a social network at least once a month, while 61 percent admitted that they do so every day. At the same time, the survey revealed that visiting social networks is one of the most common activities among Slovaks on the internet.
In addition, it appears that women gravitate towards social networks more often than men. As for the elderly, more than half of them claimed that they log into a social network at least once a month, while one third browses them every day.
When it comes to people under the age of 40 yet, only very few of them do not visit social networks at all.
In terms of individual networks, YouTube is used at least once per month by 78 percent of the respondents, followed by Facebook on 76 percent and Instagram on 42 percent. As for Twitter, this social network is used very passively and rarely among Slovaks. Besides Instagram, young Slovaks (aged 15-26) also frequent Snapchat and TikTok.
