Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) on Tuesday visited the village of Rudno nad Hronom (Banska Bystrica region), which was flooded when a dam burst on Monday. Heger met village mayor Marian Surjansky and promised him cooperation in cleaning up after the flood, along with financial aid. He also expressed his deepest sympathies to relatives of the former mayor, who lost his life during the flash flood.
Over 50 police officers, firefighters and voluntary firefighters are still at work in Rudno nad Hronom. According to Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO), all units will continue to participate in the clean-up operation.
