Passenger rail carrier ZSSK Slovakia is reintroducing its first pair of InterCity (IC) trains, ZSSK spokesman Tomas Kovac told TASR on Wednesday, adding that this is due to the improving pandemic situation both in Slovakia and neighbouring Austria.
IC trains 44 & 45 will begin operating again along the whole Kosice-Bratislava-Vienna route as of June 13. Trains will leave Kosice at 7:11 a.m., stop in Bratislava at 11:56 a.m. and arrive in Vienna at 1:24 p.m. In the opposite direction they'll depart from Vienna at 2:42 p.m., stop in Bratislava at 4:04 p.m. and arrive in Kosice at 8:52 p.m. "The national rail carrier is resuming this service after it was suspended as of November 3, 2020 due to the unfavourable pandemic situation," said Kovac.
ZSSK has reminded passengers that pandemic measures ordered by individual countries still need to be observed, and should be checked on the Foreign Affairs Ministry's website before travelling. The carrier updates all information regarding measures on its website on a regular basis.
