The epidemiological situation in connection with the novel coronavirus continues to improve in Slovakia as on average 650 people are tested positive on a daily basis, with the positivity of PCR tests being around five percent. According to the head of Health Analyses Institute Matej Mišík the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 is also rising in Slovakia, with a total of 66 percent of people having received at least the first dose. Also due to that, all pupils in regional education - those in nursery schools, primary and secondary schools - will be able to return to schools as of May 17, said Education Minister Branislav Groehling (SaS) on Wednesday. Meanwhile, universities will work in line with rules from the COVID-automaton. Based on the automaton, not a single district will be coloured black as of next Monday (May 17), while only two districts (Myjava and Sobrance) will be dark red.
