President Zuzana Čaputová on Tuesday sent a telegram of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding a school shooting in Kazan.
"The loss of young and innocent lives is a tragedy that will shake the entire nation. Slovakia's thoughts are with the Russian people at this difficult time," the president stated, noting that she was dismayed to learn about the event. At the same time, Čaputová expressed her condolences to the bereaved on her own as well as on the Slovak public's behalf.
At least nine people, including seven pupils, were killed in a school shooting that occurred earlier in the day in the Russian city of Kazan. One of the other two victims is said to be a teacher. Meanwhile, dozens of other people were injured.
