Finance Minister Igor Matovič (OLaNO) has departed for Pittsburgh, where he's set to hold talks with the top management of U.S. Steel regarding the future of the corporation's plant in the Slovak city of Kosice, TASR learnt from the Finance Ministry on Wednesday.

The talks will concern the transition to a low-carbon economy, reducing greenhouse gases in industry and Slovakia's national recovery plan.

The minister, who was invited by U.S. Steel, is being accompanied by State Secretary Marcel Klimek, general manager of the Finance Ministry's national recovery plan department Livia Vašáková, and representative of the Value for Money unit Juraj Mach. The delegation is expected to meet top U.S. Steel representatives, including CEO David Burritt.
