Justice Minister Maria Kolíková (For the People) will keep her post after only 51 out of 117 MPs present in the House voted to remove her on Monday evening. The extraordinary session was initiated by the opposition party SMER-SD. Only one coalition MP voted to oust her, while two abstained and 27 did not show up, all from the largest coalition party OLaNO.
Kolíková said at a press conference after the vote that she felt a strong support from the For the People party and Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO). The minister said she read from this that the OLaNO movement agrees on the need to reform the judiciary, and that she appreciated the received support.
