President Zuzana Čaputová on Tuesday sent a telegram expressing condolences to her Mexican counterpart Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador regarding the lives that were lost on Monday night in the collapse of an overpass of the Mexico City underground, TASR was told by her spokesman Martin Strižinec. "The president expressed her sincere condolences to the bereaved and wished a rapid recovery to those who were injured," said Strižinec.
At least 23 people were killed and dozens were injured after an elevated section of the underground in Mexico City partially collapsed on Monday night. The misfortune took place at the moment when a train was crossing the overpass.
