A referendum on early election would fly in the face of principles of the rule of law, Justice Minister Maria Koliková (For the People) declared on Monday. "If we had conceded that this is a good way to go, then this would have been a path to impugning any election results. It's not possible to change the last election result just because we don't like the outcome. That would mean that you can cast doubt over the election results practically one month after any election," she said. Earlier in the day, members of the petition commission submitted more than 585,000 signatures to the President's Office calling for a referendum on early election.
