Outdoor terraces may open in two weeks

The Public Health Office (UVZ) can imagine that measures for restaurants and pubs might be relaxed by enabling them to open terraces in a two weeks' time, its spokesperson Daša Račková said on Monday. Currently such facilities can only provide takeaway and food delivery services. The office points out that the relaxation of measures brings with it an increased mobility of people and the associated risks. Therefore, not all facilities have been opened at once. "We decided to wait a while with opening of these gastronomy outlets, as experience in this area showed us that people were not wearing face masks, not only when eating and drinking but all the time they spent at the table," explained Račková. The procedure for the further potential relaxation of measures is to be discussed by experts later this week. The issue will be on the agenda of the next meeting of the Government's Pandemic Commission as well.
