Slovan Bratislava this weekend defended their Slovak football championship title after defeating Zlaté Moravce 2-0 at the Pasienky stadium in Bratislava, thereby securing an unbeatable ten-point lead ahead of AS Trenčín with three matches left to play.
The most successful football team in Slovakia has secured its eighth title since Slovakia gained independence in 1993. As Slovak champion, Slovan will play in the second qualifying round of next season's UEFA Champions League.
