Government should approve recovery plan on April 28

The Government is set to approve the Slovak recovery plan on April 28 and it will be sent afterwards to Brussels. According to Prime Minister Eduard Heger, an extraordinary meeting of the Economic and Social Council is expected to comment on this document prior to its approval by the Government. EU countries are supposed to send their national recovery plans to the European Commission by the end of April. Slovakia is set to draw about €6 billion from this EU instrument and more funds are available from the EU structural funds. In this regard, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Slovakia is appealing to the Slovak Government to implement the recovery plan predictably, transparently and effectively. AmCham head Gabriel Galgóci stated that the recovery plan is an important opportunity for Slovakia to accelerate reforms.
