Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) left for his first official foreign trip as premier on Thursday - to the Czech Republic, in line with tradition. In Prague, Heger met both with Czech President Miloš Zeman and his Czech counterpart Andrej Babiš. "We have several issues in common. The priority will be addressing the coronavirus pandemic, but we'll also discuss restarting the economy and the recovery plan," said Heger before his departure. The Russian Sputnik V vaccine is among the topics under discussion in Prague, as the Czech Republic is also considering purchasing the vaccines. On Wednesday, the Czech Deputy Prime Minister and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Hamáček said that he wants the Czech Republic to be ready to purchase Sputnik V if the European Medicines Agency gives its approval.
