Final session of commission investigating Lučanský's death set for Friday

The final meeting of the commission for investigating the death of former national police chief Milan Lučanský while in custody in late 2020 will be held this Friday, Justice Ministry spokesman Peter Bubla announced on Wednesday.

Lučanský's family lawyer, Miroslav Radačovský, who is also a non-attached member of the European Parliament, said that the commission should adopt its final report on Friday. The commission, which is investigating Lučanský's death and also an injury to his eye while in custody three weeks earlier, has almost 20 members, including politicians and experts.

Lučanský, who was charged with corruption, died in hospital on December 30, one day after he was found hanging from a sweatshirt tied to a bed in his cell in Prešov.
