Security risks of foreign investments to be assesed

Slovak Economy Ministry is preparing a new legislation aimed at decreasing the security risks stemming from foreign investments in Slovakia. The idea behind the measure is to introduce tools and rules, which should help to monitor, evaluate and eliminate risks related to foreign investments including a possible ban on particular investments. Special attention should be paid to projects in the field of defence, biotechnology, critical infrastructure and media. In spite of generally positive impacts of incoming foreign investments, increased attention needs to be paid to them. Their potential and ability to adversely affect security or public order need to be identified," explains the Economy Ministry.
