An earthquake that hit south of Vienna on Tuesday evening was felt also in Bratislava, Kristian Csicsay of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) confirmed to the TASR press agency on the same day. "The tremors were felt mostly by people in the Bratislava borough of Petržalka, on the higher floors of apartment blocks," Csicsay said. He added that the earthquake was detected also by the national network of seismic stations.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.7, hit near the town of Neunkirchen at 6.25 p.m., according to the Austrian meteorological institute.
