The protection of basic rights and freedoms even during the state of emergency and pandemic crisis deserves special attention, Prosecutor-General Maroš Žilinka concurred with Public Ombudswoman Mária Patakyová on Monday. They discussed the legality of the preventive measures and whether some interventions into the fundamental rights and freedoms of the people have been appropriate, and compared notes about complaints filed with the Constitutional Court that challenge the constitutionality of the current pandemic measures, which have restricted basic rights and freedoms of both people and organisations.
