The investigation into the death of Slovak national Jozef Chovanec at Charleroi Airport in 2018 has been taking place in a standard manner, a Belgian prosecutor of Mons appeal court informed Slovak Prosecutor-General Maros Žilinka via a letter. The only thing that has been delayed a little is a complete expert assessment drawn up by a college of court experts, and the current pandemic situation does not allow the crime to be reconstructed due to restrictions concerning gatherings of large numbers of people. Jozef Chovanec died in February 2018 following an incident with an aircraft crew and police at Charleroi Airport in Belgium, after he was unable able to present a valid plane ticket. According to an official report, Chovanec died of a heart attack.
