The senior coalition party OLaNO parliamentary caucus agreed on Thursday to give a full mandate to the party leaders for further negotiations with the coalition partners in connection with the coalition crisis, party spokesman Matus Bystriansky informed on the same day. After the purchase of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, coalition partners Freedom and Solidarity and For the people demanded the resignation of the Health Minister and Prime Minister.
"If Igor Matovic decides to leave the post of prime minister, then we won't leave the coalition," said Sulik, adding that they were waiting until next Wednesday to find out how the premier would decide.
The Chairwoman of the For the People party Veronika Remisova said on Thursday that she is sorry that Richard Sulik is making "strong statements", reiterating that For the People is discussing the situation in the coalition in accordance with the resolution of its leaders, which says that For the People is demanding a change in the post of prime minister in order to remain in the four-strong coalition.
The president has called on the premier to end the government crisis as soon as possible.
