At the suggestion of the government, President Zuzana Caputova removed on Thursday Vladimir Pcolinsky from the post of Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS) director. The President at the same time dismissed Pcolinsky from his service as an Intelligence member. The government agreed to a motion to remove Pcolinsky from office at its meeting on Wednesday (March 17). He was detained last week on suspicion of receiving a bribe from business tycoon Zoroslav Kollar in exchange for ensuring that Slovak Intelligence Service would not eavesdrop on him. The Specialised Criminal Court on Sunday (March 14) decided that Pcolinsky would be remanded in custody.
