President Zuzana Čaputová has called on interim Health Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) to address questions regarding Slovakia's planned purchases of vaccines against COVID-19. The president inquired specifically about information that recently appeared in the media, according to which Slovakia has not contracted the maximum possible amount of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines, failing to claim a total of 3 million doses of the jab. According to the Health Ministry, Slovakia has ordered 5.8 million vaccine doses from Pfizer/BioNTech. Deputy Health Minister Jana Ježíková on Wednesday denied the speculation that Slovakia refusing 3 million doses of this vaccine could have been related to the country's purchase of Sputnik V jabs.
