President Zuzana Čaputová has invited Prime Minister Igor Matovič (OLaNO) to an informal closed-door meeting without the attendance of the media, slated for Tuesday (March 16) afternoon. The government of Igor Matovič has been embroiled in a crisis over the circumstances surrounding the purchase of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine earlier in the month, although the tension within the coalition goes back much earlier. The main catalyst for conflict is disputes between Prime Minister Igor Matovič (OLaNO) and SaS leader and Economy Minister Richard Sulík. All four coalition parties have concurred that they don't want a snap election, with the SaS and For the People parties calling for the resignation of Health Minister Marek Krajči (OLaNO) and Premier Matovič. Krajči has already stepped down.
