Police have asked the Prosecutor’s Office to charge a catholic priest identified only as Pavol K. with the sexual abuse of an 11-year old girl. “Due to the sensitivity of this case, involving a minor, police will not provide any information”, said Nitra regional police spokesperson Bozena Bruchterova.
The priest has been suspected of sexually abusing the girl over a period of nine months. A number of village inhabitants, however, cast doubt over the accusation and fully stand behind their former priest, who was suspended immediately after the accusations surfaced last year.
