The stability of the Government is unattainable without drawing political responsibility, President Zuzana Čaputová stated on a social network on Tuesday.
Slovakia needs a stable government in order to pay full attention to the pandemic and its effects. "The Slovak Government is going through a difficult period that could result in various changes," she said.
Tension in the coalition was triggered by the purchase of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine by Prime Minister Igor Matovič (OLANO) last week, with minor coalition parties Freedom and Solidarity and For the People demanding a reconstruction of the Government, while the second-strongest party We Are Family also concedes such a course of action.
The two smaller parties mainly demand the resignations of Matovič and Health Minister Marek Krajčí (OLANO).
