Germany refuses exemption for lorry drivers

Germany has not agreed to grant an exemption for freight transport drivers who are obliged to show a negative test certificate not older than 48 hours when entering the country, Slovak Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok (a Freedom and Solidarity/SaS nominee) said on Thursday.
Korcok asked his German counterpart Heiko Maas to cancel this obligation or to extend the deadline to 72 hours. Germany did not agree with this request. Korcok talked about the exemption with his counterparts from the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany on Thursday. The Slovak minister wants to continue the talks about the exemption and also wants to open the topic at EU level. According to him, Germany promised to solve technical problems related to entry into the country.
