Meal vouchers no longer mandatory under new Labour Code

Employees in Slovakia will be able to choose between meal vouchers or financial bonuses under the amendment to the Labour Code signed by President Zuzana Čaputová on Wednesday. The employees will be bound by their choice for the duration of 12 months. New provisions have been added to the Labour Code also regarding home office work to modernise the legislation so as to reflect digitisation trends. The employees are now granted the right to disconnect. This right is designed to make sure that even employees using home office can log off, as they are entitled to their rest.
