Finance Minister presents new Recovery and Resilience Plan at Ecofin

Finance Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) presented the Slovak coronavirus recovery and resiliency plan at the Ecofin Council session (meeting of economy and finance ministers of the EU countries) on Tuesday.

Slovakia outlined among its priorities education, the health sector, a green economy, the streamlining of state and public services, science, and research and innovations. By carrying out the recovery plan, Slovakia aspires to begin catching up with developed EU countries in terms of life quality and standard of living indicators.

The Slovak minister praised the fact that investments in the recovery plan are tied to reforms. He also thanked the European Commission for its co-operation and added that Slovakia "wishes to be a responsible partner to the EU member states and European institutions".
