German COVID measure puts Slovak industrial supplies in jeopardy

Slovakia is running the risk of seeing supplies for its industrial parks and production facilities halted, Transport and Construction Minister Andrej Doležal (We Are Family nominee) warned on Facebook with respect to Germany's epidemiological measures on Tuesday.

Doležal was referring to a German measure according to which Slovak drivers must have a negative COVID-19 test not older than 48 hours.

Specialised mobile testing sites for lorry drivers, located close to the borders, could be one feasible solution. "However, I'm fully aware that our real options would pose only cosmetic changes rather than any real change. The latter can be achieved solely by clinching a deal with the German side on having the measures relaxed," underlined Doležal.
