Arnold the eagle, whose return from his winter home in Africa was followed by the public thanks to a transmitter strapped to his back, has found a new mate, TASR learnt on Monday. The lesser spotted eagle returned to the High Tatra mountains on Tuesday of last week (April 22), only to discover his original partner had partnered with a new mate as well as being involved in a territorial fight.
“After some not so good news from the previous few days, we can finally present joyful information. On Friday morning (April 25), Arnold was caught red-handed in the most intimate of situations with his new love”, said Director of the High Tatras National Park Administration Pavol Majko on Monday. Environmentalists observed Arnold mating with a new female twice at the edge of woodland. According to Majko, his new partner seems to be quite assiduous. “She requited Arnold's love by bringing him a freshly caught field mouse as a reward”, he said.
