Albania has made progress in the accession process with the European Union and reforms need to be continued, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok said on Wednesday during his visit to Albania, where he concluded his working trip to the Western Balkans countries. The minister held talks with his Albanian counterpart Olta Xhacka. Besides EU accession strategy, they also discussed development and humanitarian co-operation. In 2020, Slovakia provided Albania with a financial contribution for reconstruction after the 2019 earthquake in the north-west. The development co-operation with Albania will continue in 2021. Minister Korčok symbolically handed over Slovakia's financial contribution worth €30,000 to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Albania.
