The well-appreciated program aimed at the restoration of castles carried out by people who were long-term unemployed, has ended abruptly and has no successor yet. The program which ran under the Labour Ministry has in the past ten years distributed a total of € 24.5 million from European funds, and around 600 people per year were employed to work on the restoration of 30 to 40 monuments in various locations. The Ministry of Culture wants to save this programme with its own scheme.
